( 0 Votes ) Bleacher Report - Colorado Buffaloes Football >>
Toney Clemons a Big 12 Star The Colorado Buffaloes picked up wide receiver Toney Clemons, a tremendous player with great play making ability, when he decided to transfer from Michigan. Clemons had to sit out last season, due to NCAA transferring rules. He left Michigan after his sophomore season, because he didn't like the way the Wolverines staff used him offensively. "It just wasn't a good fit for me depth chart-wise, system-wise," Clemons said. "I didn't feel like I was getting utilized the way I wanted to. I didn't feel like they used my talent, my fast speed and route running to stretch the field." "I just had to go somewhere where I feel my talent would be utilized and somewhere I feel I have a chance to
come in and be a factor. I feel Colorado is a system that will allow me to do that offensively."   High School Stats Clemons earned four-star status and was ranked as the No. 10 wide receiver in the country by Scouts.com. He was also a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and was ranked the No. 12 receiver in the nation and the No. 3 player in the state of Pennsylvania where he played at Valley High School. In his career, he had 100 receptions for 1,541 yards and 17 touchdowns. Clemons also returned seven kicks, five punts and two kickoffs for touchdowns, in his career. As a senior, he was one of five finalists for the Gatorade Player of the Year Award as the best football player in the state of Pennsylvania. He was a highly recruited receiver out of high school. The teams that offered Clemons a scholarship included: Pitt, Penn State, Michigan, Colorado, ...(Read Full Article)
